“Threesome” by Gonzalo Rodríguez Risco

 

Three short plays and three monologues. Three actors perform numerous characters searching for unity as they encounter former lovers, question their assumptions about sexual identity, and struggle to define their relationships in a modern, isolating world.

Production History:

“Threesome” was staged at the Festival of New Work, Yale Cabaret. It was directed by Luke Robertson, Stephanie Ybarra and Brian Hastert, and featured Stephanie Ybarra, Erik Pearson and Brian Hastert (New Haven, 2007).


Asunto de Tres”, the Spanish version of “Threesome” premiered at the ICPNA Theater. It was directed by Diego La Hoz, and featured Vanessa Robbiano, Carlos Barraza and Martín Guerra (Lima, 2000).


Asunto de Tres”, the Spanish version of “Threesome” was reprised at the Julieta Theater. It was directed by Diego La Hoz, and featured Alexandra Graña, Gabriel Anselmi and Sandro Monzante (Lima, 2004).


Asunto de Tres”, the Spanish version of “Threesome”, directed by Diego La Hoz, and featuring a cast of young Mexican actors was reprised in Mexico. (Mexico City, 2005).


Asunto de Tres”, the Spanish version of “Threesome”, directed by Espacio Libre directing students was reprised in Lima (2008).


The play received a Special Mention at the “Fifth Festival of Peruvian and North American Theater” (Lima, 2000).
